I help you act on the opportunities AI opens up for your business.
A day or half a day a week, in a steady rhythm, alongside your team. In your own systems, on work that saves you time the week after.
Everything at a glance.
Pim van Thiel, AI consultant in Rotterdam. Over twenty years of experience with digitalisation, automation and innovation.
I work in your business one day or half a day a week, and integrate AI into the work you already do.
Work that gets easier, faster and more enjoyable. And a team that needs you for less of it every month.
Businesses with one to fifty people.
When you bring me in.
You know there are opportunities. But you don't know where to start.
If any of this sounds familiar, I can help.
Scattered experiments are running
One person uses ChatGPT, another builds something in Make or Zapier. Nice, but none of it builds up: what one person learns never reaches the next, and a lot of work gets done twice.
Knowledge sits in heads and separate systems
Client context in mailboxes, decisions in conversations, the way things get done sitting with that one colleague. If someone leaves, work stops or you have to go back a few steps.
The same work comes back every week
Typing out quotes, answering emails that have been answered a hundred times, retyping data from one screen into the next.
Nobody is driving it
Everyone has their hands full with their own work. Finding out what works gets pushed to next week. And whatever someone does figure out stays in their own head.
It isn't interest that's missing. What's missing is someone who knows what they're doing, makes time for it every week, and brings colleagues along.
The goal is not a report or a dashboard. The goal is that on a Thursday afternoon you have time to build your business.
So your AI never starts from scratch.
A new colleague is smart, but doesn't know your business. After five years they know your clients, your prices and the why behind your choices. Your company's memory is those five years, built up in a few months: everything that now sits in heads, mailboxes and separate chats, in one place the system can work with, and that your people work from as well. So you never lose what you worked out. If someone leaves, what they knew simply stays.
And this memory is yours. Not your AI supplier's.
So you can always switch AI tools, or add one, whenever something better comes out.
What changes every month.
No six-month project that only delivers at the end. Every month something is finished, every month you can do a little more yourselves, and every month builds on the one before.
The work feels lighter
Less retyping, less searching, less hassle. What's left is the work you actually want to do.
Something new is running in your own system
As much as possible in the systems you already use. No new platform everyone has to move to.
What you work out once, you never work out again
Rules, exceptions and the why behind a choice go into your company's memory. So everyone can learn from everyone else's work.
Less waiting for each other
People who used to wait until a colleague had time now do it themselves. Or better: they let an AI agent do it.
More and more on your own.
I don't only set up AI systems. Above all I make sure you understand how it works, and I teach you to keep building yourselves. Sometimes that means teaching one person to build something themselves. More often it means more people getting better at working with AI: where you can rely on it, where you can't, and how to bend it to fit the work you actually do.
I do it, you watch
I research and build, and I say out loud why I do it this way. On real work, not on a practice case.
We do it together
You get going yourselves while I watch and steer. This is where you learn how to direct an AI system, and how to get it taking more work off your hands each time, by itself.
You do it yourselves
The team keeps the rhythm and carries on building by itself. I still drop in to take a look, share new developments and see what else is there.
My work has succeeded when you need me less and less. that's what I steer on →
Three steps, from working it out to doing it yourselves.
These are the steps I always go through. Simple cases can run inside a day. At the start it usually pays to take more time.
Research
Where does work get stuck, where is the gain, and what is the smallest sensible step right now? Not a forty-page report, but a roadmap you can carry on with tomorrow.
Set up
Setting up and connecting the systems so AI can get at them and take work off your hands. As much as possible with the tools you already have.
Guide
Using it with the team on real work, then steering and building on what that teaches us.
That's how we act on the opportunities AI opens up for your business.
Where does your business stand? The five levels.
The roadmap from one-off chats to a system that takes over more and more work. Most smaller businesses are at level 1 or 2. That's normal.

AI helps you task by taskthe temp
AI works with youthe permanent colleague
AI carries on without youthe independent colleague
AI runs a processthe team member who owns it
Your business isn't at one single level. Quotes can already be at level 3 while client knowledge is still at level 1. For each process we look at what the next sensible step is.
Two ways to hire me. Your call.
As a team member
For businesses with so much on the table that a single project would be too small. I work with you on a fixed rhythm for an agreed period, at your office or remotely, together with the people who will work with it.
An agreed number of half-days or days per week. Research, building and training all run side by side. Every month we make a short priority list with concrete goals, and review the month before.
By result
For businesses that want to start small first, or that have one clear question. You buy a concrete result, with a start, an end and a price agreed up front.
Research with a roadmap. A day where we use it with your team on real work. One defined first case, your quotes for example. Or a few months of guidance.
What it costs depends on the approach, the scope and the rhythm. drop me a message
And this is me.
Over twenty years of experience with digitalisation and innovation, at large and small organisations. And always focused on what changes in the work, and so on the people doing it. It comes down to one question: will your people work with it?
I've led enough projects to know where they run aground. And that's rarely the technology. Usually it's because the moment things got busy, nobody made time for it. That's why it has to save time straight away, why I only train on real work, and why I stay involved once the first piece is running.
I'm happy to think through what AI could do in your business.
Email or call me. Tell me what you're running into, and I'll say honestly whether I can help.
